  • Fernhill fibre naturally dyed yarns

    £12.00

Fernhill is a farm a few miles away from The Lace Knittery and it is a special place to visit. They farm holistically and organically and have transformed the soil on the farm. The sheep breeds have been selected as most suitable for the environment and they are breed for the quality of their fleece. It is a magical place.

The yarn is spun into a two ply just over the border in Wales meaning total yarn mileage to The Lace Knittery is kept to a minimum.
This yarn forms part of The Lace Knittery Natural Selection where we naturally dye in house. The dyes are either foraged locally (often from the garden or outside The Lace Knittery HQ) or ethically sourced. At the end of the dyeing process only clear water is left.

Each skein is 100g/405m lace weight. It is soft to work with and easy to use.

  • The Lace Knittery Penryn Poncho PDF knitting pattern

    £4.20

The Lace Knittery loves a poncho and being based in the West Country with relatives in Cornwall I am endlessly inspired. This pattern has cable work inspired by the stonework and Celtic crosses in this part of that wonderful county.

It is asymmetrical in shape and can be worn in any direction or left unsewn as a wrap.

It is knitted in DK weight yarn. The yarn in the photo is a natural colour baby alpaca, silk and cashmere and is available from The Lace Knittery. Three skeins are required.

  • The Lace Knittery Scrumper Scarf PDF Knitting Pattern

    £4.20

The Lace Knittery Scrumper Scarf is inspired by my favourite blackberrying spot. This little scarf is triangular in shape and is perfect for keeping you warm when rambling. It is knitted side to side and has a cable pattern along each edge. It is a perfect first project for someone looking to try cables but is nice for a quick make for a more experienced knitter.

It is knitted in Rowan Felted Tweed and requires one ball.
