At The Lace Knittery we have been dyeing our own yarn and fibre since 2010 and it is such fun. We have developed this kit to share a fascinating and enjoyable hobby. The colours are food colouring based and as such are entirely non toxic, so no specialist equipment is required. The kits contains full instructions, four colours which can be mixed or diluted into at least another ten. Each colour can be diluted into at least a litre of water meaning a little goes a long way. There are gloves, a spatula, pipettes (for making a dotty or splashed effect) and a 100g skein of yarn.
The colour is set with heat and then it is washable.
The original design book by Toft with over 40 animal designs (kits for some available from The Lace Knittery) including a lion, elephant and sheep. A classic and such addictive fun.
Another super book from Kerry Lord of Toft, this a collection of 50 dog breeds. As with all Toft patterns there is great support online and the they can be done in any weight yarn. The Lace Knittery current favourite is Romeo the Schnauzer!

The third collection from Marie Wallin and this time concentrating on crochet. A beautiful book full of timeless designs, makes me want to rename as The Lace Knittery Does Crochet Too!
This DK yarn from Fyberspates is something special. It is 100% superwash merino wool from Peru (no mulesing!) and is variegated. The dyeing process is twofold making each skein unique. If you want to use more than one in a project just alternate the skeins.
One skein will easily make a scarf and the feel and drape is superb. At The Lace Knittery we have used it in a variety of projects and the colour variations does not distract from any surface design.
Each skein is 115g/230m
