    Made by The Fibre Co only when the technology allowed them to produce a superwash Peruvian merino yarn without the standard chlorine treatment. It is blended with alpaca and a recycled nylon for strength. One skein is enough for a pair of socks, two for a wrap.

    Sock/fingering weight, each skein is 100g/325m.

    Machine washable at 30 degrees.

  • Jamieson’s and Smith Shetland Heritage

    Shetland Heritage recreates the characteristic look of the handspun yarn seen in the collection of the Shetland museum. The small colour range is directly inspired by those found in garments from the 19th century.

    This worsted spun yarn has a wonderfully smooth texture, like knitting with butter. it is a lace weight yarn and can be used for either fair isle or lace knitting. It gives any project a traditional feel.

    This beautiful lace weight yarn from John Arbon is a true celebration of their west country heritage, from the composition of the yarn to the name with each colour named after a different variaty apple grown there.

    Made of a blend of Devon Closewool, Romney Marsh and Exmoor Blueface Appledore yarn has a crisp texture and gorgeous lustre. This makes it a great choice for intricate or delicate lace work.

    40% Devon Closewool/ 40% Romney Marsh/ 20% Exmoor Blueface.

  • Kremke superfine cobweb merino

    A beautiful mulesing free merino from Kremke Soul wool. It is lace weight 30/2 with 750m on each spool. One would be enough to knit a cobweb scarf but the range of colours work really well when combining and working graduated colour work. They can be used together, work extremely well with the Kremke Stellaris and also with any other yarn.

    Each spool is 50g/750m. Washable at 30 degrees.
    If used on it’s own 1.5-2mm needle or hook and 40stitches x 50 rows for a standard 10cm/4inch gauge square.

    The original yarn that The Lace Knittery started the company with. It is 70% kid mohair and 30% silk, lace weight and 420m per skein. It knits to the same gauge as Rowan Kidsilk Haze.

    Each colour is hand painted at The Lace Knittery using an acid dye technique in small batches. The colours are all moments in time and I can take you to each and every spot that inspired the colour way.

    At The Lace Knittery we hand paint and naturally dye our own range of yarns and fibre. All are natural fibres and traceable to source, ethically produced and in our dyeing processes do not use harsh chemicals.
    The hand painted range is dyed by me at The Lace Knittery HQ in Somerset. Each skein has the colour applied by hand and pushed in inch by inch. This means an even colour, no gaps and a soft drift of colours across the skein.

    They are washed several times to remove any excess dye.

    They are all inspired by the world around me and the myth, magic and beauty of these British Isles.

    I love this yarn it is one of my favourites to both dye and use. It is lace weight and is a mix of a British wool breed and silk. It has incredible lustre and drape. Blue Faced Leicester breed has a property like linen in that it gets softer with use and age. A single skein is enough for an entire wrap.

    Each skein is 100g/800m. 55% blue faced Leicester wool, 45% silk. Lace weight.
