Here at The Lace Knittery this heritage yarn holds a special place in our hearts. It was the inspiration many years ago to learn to knit and our love for lace knitting and colour work and ultimately beginning the company.
It is 100% Shetland wool, produced by over 300 crofters on Shetland. It is also spun and dyed on Shetland. It is available in over 220 colours and natural shades of the Shetland sheep.
It is traditionally used for fair isle knitting and gets softer with use and age. It is easy to weave in the ends and block.
It is lace/fingering/4ply weight. Each ball is 25g/105m.
